Custom Jawset (Werewolf) by TwistedTerrace Custom Jawset (Werewolf) by TwistedTerrace
Some photos of the custom jawsets I do.

This was for a werewolf commission I'm currently working on.
Jawsets like this run around $60, since werewolf teeth are very detailed. You can request different styles of teeth, as well, if you want it more human or more wolf, etc.

The teeth are Pluffy, the gums are formed hot glue, and the whole thing is built on wire mesh.

Can we order just the teeth? Without gums and mesh? I'm making a skull faced mask and I'm too scared to make the teefs :P

...Damn, I wish I'd known about your fang commissions sooner, I could've bought them instead of the ones from carnfx.com, but now I've already moulded my mask's muzzle to fit the jawset I bought. :stupidme:
Man, your jawset is fangtastic! (lame pun, I know, I couldn't resist lol) XD

Yeah, I think carnfx screwed me over with the jawset, compared to his jaws on his website's pictures the ones he sent me weren't as impressive.
Yes I love yours more because they're so scary! The scarier the better for werewolves. :D

Oh that's not even the half of it; I ordered two sets of green eyes, green LED lights, teeth and tongue, and two noses...had to send the order back four times; because first time he forgot to send one of the noses which I paid for AND the LED light assembly he sent me was faulty (one light kept flickering while the other didn't light up at all) plus the eyes were the wrong sizes (but the eye-size was my fault), so I sent those back, went he sent me the new stuff the new LED lights' wire is very thick so I'm going to struggle fitting it inside the mask without breaking the inner metal wires and he forgot to send the other nose again and the new eyes were badly chipped around the rims (apparently he didn't check them when he got them from Van dyke's texidermy store) and the light wouldn't shine through them, so I sent those back again, got new eyes and finally got my other nose but yet again the eyes didn't cast any light so he sent me his own custom-painted eyes with do cast light...but the eyes are yellow not green like I asked multiple times which urks me (this means that I'll have to keep the green lights permanently switched on when wearing the mask for the movie-shooting, which means I'll be running out of batteries faster than what I would normally do). So in the end I ended up with a jawset that was badly repainted (he admitted that it was a jawset he made ages ago so it wasn't even new, all he did was repaint it) and doesn't feel very sturdy, four sets of eyes (so unless I can somehow get into a mask-making business of my own I have no use for the three other pairs of eyes), and the one pair of eyes I need to use with the LED lights are not the color I wanted.

The Jawset and eyes I wanted were these ones [link] but what I got were basically leftovers because he didn't want to make new ones for me; because the jawset I got, to say it's supposed to be cast from a real wolf's mouth with polar bear's canines attached, had molars that were pretty small compared to the front set of fangs which look a bit silly when the canines are huge. So not worth the price he asked for. I'd repaint them myself but I daren't in case I ruin them because they're glow-in-the-dark fangs and the GITD paint I got for that effect isn't really good quality compared to the paint he used.

Oh yes, scary werewolves ftw! My personal philosophy: a werewolf without snarls or any monstrous features at all, is not a werewolf. :nod:

...I don't suppose you are able to make a custom jawset that can arrive in the UK before halloween, could you? ^^;

Wow, that's a terrible ordeal!! The company/dude sounds like a total douche...I'm so sorry about that!

Yes, I hate those so called 'werewolves' that are literally an anthro wolf body with a total real wolf head. Werewolves are supposed to be MONSTERS, and they're not supposed to look like real wolves like that!! That's why I'm not a fan of the Werewolf Calendar...Pretty much all their stuff is just anthro wolves, WHICH ARE NOT WEREWOLVES OH MY GOD.

I could certainly try! You'd have to pay the shipping though, it's my policy...Especially for out of country sales...

It's okay, it was my problem nobody elses...but the cost of returning the faulty goods four times cost more than the actual product unfortunately. I'm not ordering stuff from carnfx ever again, the only reason I went to him was because he didn't have a big commission que (and I'm not suprised if he messes all his customers about like that), he was supposed to be cheaper than Van Dyke's Taxidermy, and he was reccomended by :iconsugarpoultry: in one of her Snarly werewolf mask vlog-entries.

Well in truth; any wolf-costume that's not got monstrous features at all and or god forbid has a goofy cartoon-face on them, is a furry not a werewolf. I hate it when people mistake werewolves for furries, I even did a deviation expressing that annoyance [link] when somebody mistook me for a furry just because of my first attempt at my own halloween mask for college. Sure real-looking anthro wolves are nice to look at...but if the don't shape-shift and they don't even snarl, then they shouldn't be labelled as a werewolf at all. In fact the classic werewolves don't even look like wolves in anyway; the wolfman, Ginger Snaps, AWIL and AWIP, 13 hours, Nature of the Beast, Teen wolf (2012 TV series), Buffy and the Underworld franchise already established that. I think the only exception has to be :iconqarrezel:'s costumes, her stuff is so freaken realistic that you forget that it's a human in a mask, and she isn't limited to just neutral expressions on animals she can do snarly animals too like her Tasmanian werewolf and her Horned Hyena mask too, which definitely makes her different from most normal anthro costume-makers.

Well...the only problem is that I've already made the sculpture to mould the mask from: [link] which I sculpted to fit the jawset I have. I would need to produce the resin mask-blank first before I could give you the exact measurements of the mask's mouth, plus there's the furring of the mask and attaching of the LED lights I need to do; and I'm trying to get the mask ready just in time for Halloween (halloween night is the best time to test a movie mask to see if it's truly scary enough for the camera I think lol), unless you can work with just the measurements of my current jawset (which is 6.06 inches long, and the back of the top jaw where the molars are is roughly 3.09 inches wide). ^^;

I suppose I can try...I have a lot to work on before Halloween, but I'll see what I can do. I won't make you have to do a down payment for the materials either, so I can just get it done and you can see if you like it and if it works. Then you can pay me :3 If that's alright. I just don't know how long it'll take to ship over there...
