Carlyle WIP #1 by TwistedTerrace Carlyle WIP #1 by TwistedTerrace
This guy will be my Halloween costume this year. The right side of his face and his back isn't finished, hence the lack of more pictures. I have A LOT of work due this month, both commissions and homework, so I'm not sure how progression photo's will be going. Here some info on the character:

Species: Werewolf
Gender: Male
Built by: Twisted Terrace (me)
Plans for Sale: HELL NO.

About the suit:
*Moving jaw (works scary good)
*Tear-duct vision
*Cold-Pak slots (1 in chest, 2 in back)
*Werewolf stilts
*Removable tail

AWOOOOOO, WEREWOLVES OF LONDON.

Thank you XD I'm sure I will! I have this thing I do every year on my friends porch. I stand there like a werewolf statue and when people come up to trick-or-treat I scare 'em XD Unless the kids are really young.
And somehow I still get hugs HURR

...WHY DIDN'T I FIND OUT ABOUT YOU SOONER?! I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooo want a costume like that! :cries:

The cold-pak slots sound very useful, how did you install them?

Awwwww :hug: I'm sorry!

There is one pouch in the chest area on the inside, and I need to update the description. I'm going to trash the idea for the two cold-paks in back because the zipper is there and would be awkward. Instead I'm cutting the cold-pak packages (they come in a long bar of three, encased in plastic) into three separate packs. I'll just scatter them in the back, probably put on in the base right near the tail, because that area get's very hot D:

Is a cold-pak the plastic ice-pack you keep in the freezer or is it something else? Because I might need to install something like that into my body-suit which is made of latex and spandex (I seriously can't afford a fan system nor know how to install one, I can barely manage LED lights).

Yes, they're ice packs :3 I use the ones they use in the war, like in Afghanistan and crap, because they're cold FOREVER. It's amazing haha! I have a whole army vest filled with the things, but if I wear it underneath any suit it makes me look rediculously bulky, so I just use the cold packs from it.
I don't use fans yet either, but I'm looking into it. My face gets very hot in some of my masks...Not sure about this guy yet though. Never worn him long enough to see.

I don't think you heat up in resin masks, Qarrezel and sugarpoultry never installed fans in their masks anyway. Might only be the big heavy foam masks and rubber masks that heat up the most.

Don't suppose you have any pictures of what the ice-packs and the slots look like? ^^

(PS: if my mask ends up becoming a total failure again like my first attempt [link] may I ask for a mask commission from you? It'd be way better than just a jawset.) ^^;

I'll try and take pictures later :)

Well I'd hardly consider that a failure, it's much better than most peoples' first tries! And of course you can commission me :D

Trust me, it was a failure; I can only see out of one eye because I built it on a male head's dummy, and the jaw was supposed to move...T_T (at least it was dubbed the best costume last year by all the parents at the doorduring trick or treating...then again that just shows how crappy Britain is for halloween.)

I got ice-packs at home but they melt and the outside of them get really wet with condensation, which ain't good for spandex and latex. ^^;

Lol XD The long fur is the black monkey shag from Distinctive Fabric, and the shorter black is just stuff I had left over from Hancock Fabric, so I'm not sure where to get any anymore :(

oh! monkey shag! LOL that's exactly the same fabric I'm using for my horror werewolf costume! the hair on is is more sparse it really makes it look more realistic! specially for an animal/ human hybrid design. It's also VERY wonderful for hand laying on with glue! I use all of the small scraps I have and cut the hair off in chunks and lay it on all over the place :D

I've been working with hot glue for going on 4 years now, so I know how to deal with it. I've gotten to the status of making it just as good (and more sturdy/holding) as sewing. I don't have a sewing machine, so I only sew some parts for the mask, and the paws. I might put up a tutorial on how I deal with the glue so it doesn't turn out like crap. It's lame when people just overlay fur onto each other, it makes terrible seams -.-"
That's sweet, haha! The monkey shag is friggin' great for werewolves. The hair on his face, though, is that shorter black fur stuff. But his 'hair' is the monkey shag.
